SUNSET BLVD

MID CENTURY

MODERN

Tucked away directly off the Sunset Strip and  across from the Sunset Tower Hotel sits this very charming Mid-Century-Modern building, The Sunset Roundhill.

As the first home of these young professional clients, budget was an important consideration. Maple plywood was cut into 4' x 4' squares, and finished on site to create a very contemporary tiled look.  The drywall was furred out around the fireplaces in both the living room and family room  to create a conceal  a reveal for recessed lighting, and a hearth effect. Both of the fireplaces were refinished with aluminum paint. The ceiling was dropped to allow for concealed cove lighting around the perimeter, and recessed halogen directional spot lighting.

A floor to ceilng pocket door was intoduced between the living room an master bedroom to allow for a courtside enfilade effect, and to extend the site lines expanding the appearance of both spaces.

The bathrooms were completely remodled using Spanish Bateig limestone in grey and biege tones along with statuary vein marble vanities. The cabinetry was custom maple and the hardware is Dornbracht. The mirrors and medicine cabinets were cutom made to slide open, and LED lighting was installed behind sandblasted glass panels to create a glowing effect.

Pocket doors were used throughout to maximize use of all the space and create a sense openness for frequent entertaining.

A Creation Beaumann sheer fabric was used in the family room to create a translucent shade and privacy from the driveway beyond.
